Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the brightness of a display surface by forming the screen of a lenticular lens-shaped transparent substrate consisting of cylindrical convex group and a phosphor layer formed on the cylindrical convex. CONSTITUTION:The lenticular type fluorescent screen is constituted of the lenticular lens-shaped transparent substrate 10 and the phosphor layer 11 formed on the surface of the cylindrical lens of the substrate 10. The lenticular lens itself is a transparent plate consisting of semi-circular lens group on at least one main surface is and the respective convex surface areas of the cylindrical lens group are juxtaposed adjacently and in parallel with each other. The phosphor layer 11 is formed by applying liquid resin containing phosphor to the surface of the cylindrical lens which is the surface of the lenticular lens 10 where the exciting light is made incident and drying it. When the fluorescent screen thus constituted is activated from the phosphor layer side, that means, the incident side with the exciting light, the emitting directions of scattered fluorescence are arranged ahead, that means, toward the respective cylindrical lenses on the emission side of the lenticular lens 10 by the action of the prism of the lens 10, thereby improving the brightness. |
