Summary:PURPOSE:To make it possible to omit a key and to select and use a plurality of devices by performing an operating mode selected when a symbol which is stored in a memory card agrees with a symbol which is stored in a preset memory means beforehand in correspondence with the operating mode. CONSTITUTION:An IC card C is inserted into a main body, and the symbol for an operating mode to be set is inputted. Then, the same number is set and stored in a RAM 27 and the card C. When the card C is inserted and the operating mode is inputted through a keyboard 14, it is judged whether the symbol of the card C which is read through a card reader/writer 23 agrees with the symbol stored in the RAM 27 or not. When the symbols agree, the operating mode selected with the keyboard 14 is executed. When the symbol of the card C does not agrees with the symbol in the RAM 27, the error is displayed on a display part 13. Thus, a key is not required, and a plurality of devices can be selected and used by selecting the symbol of the card.
