Summary:PURPOSE:To stabilize electrifying potential of a drum from a first rotation by making the timing of starting of irradiation of destaticizing light on a photosensitive drum surface at the drive starting point of image forming coincide with the instant when the light destaticizing part is reached by an electrification starting point of the first rotation of the photosensitive drum which has its rotation started. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotograph of a driving process where the photosensitive drum 1 surface which is not electrified at the time of the start of driving of image reading, is not irradiated with the destaticizing beam is provided. For example, in an organic photosensitive drum, if it is irradiated with the light in the state of low electrical field before electrification, the photosensitive drum 1 which can easily form space charge in a bulk is mounted, a copy of good quality without lowering of density or ground fogging can be obtained from the first copy even when continuous and repeated image reading is carried out, there is no necessity of taking measures to delay the time of the first copy, the time for the first copy can be shortened, and the film wear of the photosensitive drum can be minimized.
