Abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a sealed lead-acid battery equipped with a vent whose water vapor permeability is low by forming the cap-shaped vent plug in double structure whose inside, in contact with a cylindrical opening, is made of chloroprene rubber and outside is made of butyl rubber. CONSTITUTION:A sealed lead-acid battery is equipped with a vent plug having double structure whose inside, in contact with an exhaust hole, is made of chloroprene rubber 1 and outside is made of butyl rubber. 50% or more of the whole vent plug thickness is preferably occupied with the layer of the chloroprene rubber 1. The vent plug having high reactive elasticity, oil resistance, and acid resistance of chloroprene rubber 1 and low moisture permeability of butyl rubber 2 can be obtained. The sealed lead-acid battery having low water vapor permeability and low self-discharge rate is obtained. |
