Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a product having high hardness and high toughness so that the product does not wear when slid by using a zirconia sintered body essentially comprising ZrO2 on the opposite surface. CONSTITUTION:A zirconia slider 1 comprising a zirconia sintered body contg. ZrO2 as the main component is joined with a Ni-Zn ferrite 3 provided with a hole 2 for winding wires by use of glass material. A magnetic film 4 to be used as the main magnetic pole of a perpendicularly magnetized head is formed on the side surface of the slider by sputtering method. By using such a material having the coefft. of thermal expansion at 95X10<-7>/ deg.C and the Vickers hardness at 1470 as the zirconia slider 1, and a material having a coefft. of thermal expansion at 97X10<-7>/ deg.C as the Ni-Sn ferrite 3, cracks usually caused by a difference in the coefft. of thermal expansion can be avoided in this case. A pair of magnetic head members in a same shape are adhered so as to face each other with the magnetic film 4 interposed. Then a wire 5 is wound in the groove hole 2 for winding wires. Thereby, the obtd. magnetic head has excellent wearing resistance, high hardness and high toughness.
