Abstract | PURPOSE:To improve the luminous flux maintenance factor and lengthen the life by adding silver to the inside of a light emission tube wherein iron, tin and halogen in addition to mercury and rare gas are sealed and specifying the sealed amount of iron, tin, silver and halogen. CONSTITUTION:Iron, tin, silver and iodine as halogen in addition to a specific amount of mercury and rare gas are sealed in a light emission tube 1. And the respective amounts of these iron, tin, silver and iodine are {[Fe]+[Sn]}/[J]<0.5 assuming that each of the sealing amounts is expressed by the unit of gramme atominity and they are represented by [Fe], [Sn], [Ag], and [J], respectively; and also the sealing amounts are set such that {2[Fe]+2[Sn]+[Ag]/[J]>1 is satisfied. Thereby, it is possible to prevent over- liberation of iron and improve the luminous flux maintenance factor and lengthen the life. |
