PURPOSE:To provide an automatic returning of a short remained material by a method wherein a pitch size between reverse transporting rollers to be placed on a boggie movable perpendicular to an axis of a heating coil is set to such a size as one capable of performing a transportation of a short sized returned material. CONSTITUTION:A transporting system 10 composed of a transporting roller 3 for transporting a bar member 6 and a heating coil 1 and a reverse transporting system 11 composed of a reverse transporting roller 8 for use in returning the remaining material are mounted on a moving boggie 7. Since the boggie 7 is moved in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the coil 1, i.e. a pass line 12 of a die casting machine, either one of the transporting system 10 or the reverse transporting system 10 for the returning of the remaining material can be selected. Accordingly, the die casting machine is stopped and the bar material 6 remaining within the coil 1 can be returned by selecting the reverse transporting system 10. Since a pitch size between the reverse transporting rollers is set short, an automatic returning of the short remaining material can be carried out.
