Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the user to seek a public telephone set and to reduce the wait time by connecting a cordless public telephone set to a public telephone station by radio communication and connecting the cordless public telephone set to a general telephone line via the public telephone station. CONSTITUTION:The user makes a phone call near the public telephone station 10 by using a cordless public telephone set 50. The public telephone station 10 is installed by the telephone company being the 1st class communication company offering the public telephone service and the cordless public telephone set 50 is carried by the user. The public telephone station 10 has plural communication channels and connects the plural cordless public telephone set 50 to a general telephone line by radio communication. A main body 12 of the public telephone station 10 is built in a wall 14 of, e.g., a building and only a transmission/reception antenna 16 required for the radio communication and a display section 18 indicating the line operating state to the user are exposed on the wall 14.
