PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient compression stress, to eliminate slip and to enhance the accuracy in transportation, by dispersing elastic particles, whose hardness and modulus of elasticity are higher than those of a rubber base, throughout the rubber base. CONSTITUTION:In a rubber roller used in feeding a steel plate in steel industry, elastic particles 3 whose hardness and modulus of elasticity are higher than those of the rubber base of the rubber roll are dispersed throughout the rubber base. The elastic particles 3 are contained in the rubber base 2 in a ratio of 10-40wt.%. Whereupon, the elastic particles 3 protrude from the surface part of the rubber roll 1 and the rubber base 2 of the surface of said roll 1 is depressed to form recessed parts. Therefore, the sufficient compression stress to the surface of an article is obtained and the rubber roll becomes hard to slip and feed efficiency is increased and the quality of a product becomes stable.
