Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a highly durable die with a high degree of accuracy in a short time on a multiproduce and small-number production base by hot-hobing an ultraplastic blank under a ultraplastic condition with the use of a hob-master. CONSTITUTION:A pattern having the same shape as a final product to be pro duced, is formed, and is molded with silicone rubber so as to obtain a master molding die which is used in a casting method for producing a hob-master. That is, a sol-master material 3' which is obtained by mixing colloidal silica into a dental ceramic filling material is charged in the master molding die 2, and after curing, it is fired at 1,000 deg.C in a furnace so as to obtain a hob- master 3 having a forming surface 3a of the same shape as that of the pattern. This hob-master 2 and an aluminum bronze blank 4' are set on a hobing machine 5, and are then heated to 800 deg.C while the hob-master is pressed against the die blank 4' so as to produce a die 4 having a cavity 4a before it is heat- treated.
