Abstract PURPOSE:To surely and continuously detect an aircraft to travel the center of a taxiway regardless of the size by providing a part of a loop coil along a central line near the central line of the taxiway. CONSTITUTION:In an aircraft detecting device to bury a loop coil 13 in a control section D provided at a taxiway 11 of an aircraft, detect an inductance change and detect the presence and absence of the aircraft in the control section D, a loop coil 13 is provided in a pipe 14 for wiring of a lamp provided in the taxiway 11 and at least one coil side of the loop coil 13 is provided along the central line near the central line of the taxiway. Thus, the aircraft to travel on the center of the taxiway 11 can be continuously detected regardless of the size, the loop coil 13 is provided in the pipe 14 buried already and thus, it is not necessary to dig up the taxiway and the device can be also applied to the existing airport.
