Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a signal of which S/N is good as an outputted demodulated chrominance signal by providing a color separation stripes state filter in an optical path to the photoelectric conversion part of the image pickup tube, outputting a color multiplied signal from an image pickup element and generating a prescribed chrominance signal with the aid of using the color multiplied signal. CONSTITUTION:To a round type averaging circuit RAC constituted by coefficient circuits 13 and 16, an adder 14 and a one line memory LM (a second memory device LM), the signal of one horizontal scanning period is sequentially supplied from a frequency conversion circuit FCONVb. The output signal of the adder 14 is written in the LM of the RAC only in specified horizontal scanning period within an index area which is made to be a write mode by a control signal supplied to the control element 12 of the LM and except that period, the index area is made to be a read mode. Thus, the color television signal of which S/N is good can be easily generated.
