PURPOSE:To provide easy recognizability to SET modes of pause and reset by providing a means for displaying the character 'AL' to the second display digit and means for lighting and flickering the character 'AL' in accordance with the pause and reset states of ringing of an alarm. CONSTITUTION:The signal of an oscillation circuit 1 is divided down by a frequency dividing circuit 2 and is applied to a clock counting circuit 3. The time information on the hour and minute is counted in this circuit 3. The counted time information is sent to a coincidence circuit 6 to which alarm set time information is applied from an alarm time memory circuit 5. The circuit 6 compares the output information from the circuit 3 and the circuit 5 and outputs a coincidence signal to sound the alarm from a speaker 7 when these sets of the information coincide with each other. The time information outputted form the circuit 3 and the alarm time information outputted from the circuit 5 are supplied to a display switching control circuit 4. The information outputted to a display part 8 by the input information supplied thereto is switched in this circuit 4. The time mode is displayed on the display part 8 when the time information is supplied to the circuit 4. The alarm mode is displayed when the alarm set time information is supplied thereto.
