Summary:To provide an image pick-up device, an imaging apparatus, a method for operating an image pick-up device, and a program that can prevent a delay in the output of image data, compared to a case where image data is output to a processing unit (an external processor arranged outside the image pick-up device) only from a single communication I/F.SOLUTION: An image pick-up device comprises: a first communication interface that outputs, to an external processor, first image data based on image data obtained by picking up an image of a subject, and is built in the image pick-up device; a memory that stores the image data and is built in the image pick-up device; and a second communication interface that outputs, to the external processor, second image data based on the image data stored in the memory, and is built in the image pick-up device.
