Abstract | To provide a simulation apparatus, an image data generating method, a program, a recording medium, an evaluation method, and a decorative member manufacturing method which improve accuracy of a simulated image for use as a substitute for a prototype of a decorative member applied to an inner package and an exterior package of a mobile body, an interior package and an exterior package of a building, furniture, home appliances, and so on.SOLUTION: In a decorative system, a simulation apparatus 40 for generating image data of a decorative member including a first layer (top layer) and a second layer (design layer) has an image data generating unit 45 having an acquiring unit for acquiring first information relating to the first layer and second information relating to the second layer, and an arithmetic unit for generating the image data of the decorative member by using the first information and the second information. The first information includes one or more pieces of color information, permeation characteristic information, reflection characteristic information, and height information of the first layer.
