Abstract To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that achieves good transferability.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor has a surface layer containing a binder resin and particles. The particle is an organic-inorganic composite particle, and the organic-inorganic composite particle has a resin particle and inorganic fine particles present partially embedded in the resin particle. Small projections A derived from the inorganic fine particles are present on the surface of the organic-inorganic composite particle. Large projections derived from the organic-inorganic composite particle are present on the surface of the surface layer, and the height of the large projections is 70 nm or more and 250 nm or less.
