Summary:To provide aluminum alloy plates for magnetic disks, which have excellent plating properties and can suppress deformation caused by thermal strain during the sputtering of magnetic films.SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy plate for magnetic disks contains Mg: 0.1 mass% or more and 7.0 mass% or less and Ni: 1.0 mass% or more and 5.0 mass% or less, with Fe: 0.3 mass% or less, Mn: 0.3 mass% or less, and Si: 0.10 mass% or less, with the balance being Al and impurities. In addition, the coefficient of linear expansion is equal to or less than 26.0×10-6 (1/°C).
