To manage clothes in a closet efficiently.SOLUTION: A clothing management system (3) manages the storage status of clothing hung on hanger bars in a closet. The system comprises: a camera (4) installed in the closet and periodically taking pictures of all the clothes in the closet; storage means (5) storing image information of clothing photographed with the camera by classifying into predetermined clothing categories; collation and recognition means (52) recognizing changes in the storage status of clothing in the closet by comparing the image information of the clothing stored in the storage means with the image information of the clothing photographed subsequently in the closet; image information updating means (53) adding new clothing information to the clothing image information in the storage means in response to the collation and recognition means recognizing the addition of new clothing in the closet; and disappearance notification means (54) notifying the disappearance of clothing in response to the collation and recognition means recognizing the disappearance of specific clothing from the closet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】クローゼット内の衣類の管理を効率的に行うこと。【解決手段】衣類管理システム（３）は、クローゼット内のハンガーバーに吊り下げられている衣類の保管状況の管理を行うものである。そのシステムは、クローゼット内に設置され、定期的にクローゼット内のすべての衣類の撮影を行うカメラ（４）と、カメラで撮影した衣類の画像情報を所定の衣類区分に区分して記憶する記憶手段（５）と、記憶手段に記憶した衣類の画像情報と、クローゼット内でその後に撮影した衣類の画像情報とを照合して、クローゼット内の衣類の保管状況の変化を認識する照合認識手段（５２）と、照合認識手段がクローゼット内に新たな衣類の追加を認識したことに応じて、記憶手段の衣類の画像情報に新たな衣類の情報の追加を行う画像情報更新手段（５３）と、照合認識手段がクローゼット内から特定の衣類の消失を認識したことに応じて、衣類の消失を知らせる通知を行う消失報知手段（５４）とを備える。【選択図】図４
