To provide an ice maker capable of making or storing ices efficiently.SOLUTION: An ice maker 100 comprises an ice making unit 1 that makes ice, an ice storage unit 2 that stores ice, and a control unit 50, and is configured to store ice made in the ice making unit 1 in the ice storage unit 2. The ice storage unit 2 comprises a strain unit 11A that is strained when the ice stored in the ice storage unit 2 is placed thereon, and a detection unit 20 that detects a strain amount by which the strain unit 11A is strained.
