Abstract To provide a multiblade centrifugal air blower in which separation of airflows on the suction sides of blades is suppressed, which therefore enables a decrease in air volume to be suppressed.SOLUTION: A multiblade centrifugal air blower comprises: a fan having a main plate, a plurality of blades, and an annular side plate that secures ends of the plurality of blades on the opposite side from the main plate; and a scroll casing having a peripheral wall formed in a spiral shape, and at least one side wall that has a bell mouth forming a suction port, the scroll casing receiving the fan. The fan has: a rear-facing vane portion constituting a rear-facing vane at the inner peripheral portion of each of the plurality of blades; a front-facing vane portion constituting a front-facing vane at the outer peripheral portion of each of the plurality of blades; and an inflection portion forming an inflection point between the rear-facing vane portion and the front-facing vane portion. The inflection portion is formed along the entire length of the blade which is the portion between a proximal end portion on the main plate side and a distal end portion on the side plate side of each of the plurality of blades.
