Abstract | To provide a technique for generating a physical random number capable of ensuring occurrence of a random number stably for a long time even if a situation, such as operation failure and malfunction, is encountered.SOLUTION: A random number generation device (10A) includes multiple random number output boards (20A, 20B) generating a physical phenomenon random number string and includes a main board (10B) such that the physical phenomenon random number string outputted by the random number output boards (20A, 20B) can be used as a random number in an external device (40). The main board (10B) includes: a data processing portion (16) mixing or maximizing a physical phenomenon random number outputted by the random number output boards (20A, 20B) as random number data; a distillation treatment device (17) executing distillation via an extractor so as to improve safety of a physical phenomenon random number and use it as an output random number; and an external interface (19) converting a verified output random number into a converted compressed random number that can be used by the external device (40).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
