Summary:To provide an automatic charging system capable of preventing a battery in an incomplete contact state of electrodes from charging.SOLUTION: An automatic charging system 1 comprises a laser censor 25 for detecting an object around an autonomous traveling robot 3, a high reflection member 13 that is provided on a charging unit 2 for reflecting a laser beam L radiated from the laser sensor 25, a connection state determination unit 34 that determines whether a connection state between an electrode terminal 8 electrically connected to a charger 6 and an electrode plate 20 electrically connected to a battery 4 is normal, and a charge control units 36, 43 that when it is determined that the connection state between the electrode terminal 8 and the electrode plate 20 is normal, control the charger 6 to start charging the battery 4. The connection state determination unit 34 determines whether the connection state between the electrode terminal 8 and the electrode plate 20 is normal by determining whether the laser sensor 25 receives reflected light from the high reflection member 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】電極同士が半当たりした状態におけるバッテリの充電を抑制することができる自動充電システムを提供する。
