Summary:To notify users who may be affected by an abnormality in a security target of the abnormality.SOLUTION: A security system includes: a security device installed on a security target and capable of setting the security mode to an alert mode and an alert release mode; and a plurality of portable terminals capable of remotely switching the security mode through communication with the security device. The security device includes communication means for transmitting switching information indicating a result of switching the security mode and abnormality information indicating that an abnormality has occurred in the security target to the portable terminals. When a switch operation to the alert release mode is performed on one of the plurality of portable terminals while an abnormality is occurring in the security target, display control means of the portable terminal moves from an operation screen to a chat screen, and additionally displays on the chat screen a mode switching message corresponding to the switching information and an abnormality notification message corresponding to the abnormality information.
