Abstract To provide an unlocking system with an extremely high degree of freedom, capable of releasing an unlocking work of a user while ensuring security.SOLUTION: The system comprises: an unlocking device installed in the vicinity of a gateway door; a portable terminal; and an unlocking server. First specific information unique to the unlocking device is transmitted to the portable terminal by short-range communication. The portable terminal transmits second specific information, which is a combination of user information certifying that a user has an unlocking authority of the door and the received first specific information, to the unlocking server by a connection method other than communication with the unlocking device. The unlocking server checks the combination with a database related to correspondence information of the pre-stored first specific information and the user information incorporated in the second specific information to determine whether or not they conform, and if it is determined that they conform, transmits an unlocking permission signal to the unlocking device.
