Abstract To provide a technique capable of appropriately inflating and expanding an airbag in a safety device for inflating and expanding the airbag by using hydrogen.SOLUTION: This safety device comprises: an airbag; an ignition unit; a first flow path for guiding hydrogen from a first container filled with the hydrogen to the ignition unit; a first opening/closing unit that is provided in the first flow path and that can switch a state between a closed state and an opened state; an introduction unit that introduces oxygen into the first flow path; and a water vapor flow path for guiding a water vapor generated by the ignition unit to the airbag. The first opening/closing unit is closed before the airbag is inflated and expanded.
