Summary:To enable continuous operation for a fixed time and protection from overheat even when the temperature of a semiconductor switch element becomes high.SOLUTION: An electric power conversion system includes a controller which controls drive of a semiconductor switch element so as to limit a current when a temperature of the semiconductor switch element exceeds a preset limit threshold. The semiconductor switch element has three-stage allowable temperatures which allow operation. A first allowable temperature is lower than a second allowable temperature and the second allowable temperature is lower than a third allowable temperature. The limit threshold includes: a first limit threshold which is set such that the temperature of the semiconductor switch element in a normal operation does not exceed the second allowable temperature; and a second limit threshold which is set such that the temperature of the semiconductor switch element does not exceed the third allowable temperature when outer anomaly occurs in the electric power conversion system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】電力変換装置の外部異常時に半導体スイッチ素子が高温になっても、一定時間の動作継続と過熱からの保護を可能とする。【解決手段】電力変換装置は、半導体スイッチ素子の温度が予め設定された制限閾値を超えると電流制限するように半導体スイッチ素子の駆動を制御する制御部を備え、前記半導体スイッチ素子は、動作を許容する3段階の許容温度を有し、許容温度は第1から第3に従って高温である、制限閾値は、正常動作時における半導体スイッチ素子の温度が第2の許容温度を超えないように設定された第1の制限閾値と、電力変換装置の外部異常時により半導体スイッチ素子の温度が第3の許容温度を超えないように設定された第2の制限閾値と、を有する。【選択図】図4
