Abstract To provide a display device and a method for display that can display a picture input by displaying more pixels than the pixels of a display element while maintaining the level of the resolution of the picture and also can secure the gradation performance by ensuring the time for displaying a predetermined gradation.SOLUTION: A display device includes: a swing unit having an optical unit for receiving light; an actuator for swinging the swing unit; a processing unit for controlling a display element on the basis of image data; and a driving unit for driving an actuator in synchronization with processing of the processing unit.
