Abstract To provide an instance retrieval device, method and program which enable retrieval with a high degree of freedom.SOLUTION: An instance retrieval device according to an embodiment comprises: a first acquisition unit; a second acquisition unit; a calculation unit; a retrieval unit; and a presentation unit. The first acquisition unit acquires a retrieval condition being data of an instance of a retrieval object. The second acquisition unit acquires a meta retrieval condition being a description about a point of view to which attention is paid when retrieving an instance similar to the retrieval condition. The calculation unit calculates the similarity between the retrieval condition and each of a plurality of reference instances being data of an instance of a retrieved object on the basis of the meta retrieval condition. The retrieval unit retrieves the similar reference instance similar to the retrieval condition at the point of view of the meta retrieval condition for the plurality of reference instances on the basis of the similarity.
