Abstract To provide a rubber composition for a paper feed member that contains an ethylene-α-olefin-based resin excellent in ozone resistance and can sufficiently enhance an initial friction coefficient of a roller body or the like of a paper feed roller to a degree such as to cause no paper feed failure even after repeated paper feeding and can suppress degradation of abrasion resistance of the roller body or the like, and to provide a paper feed roller in which the roller body is made of the rubber composition for the paper feed member.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for a paper feed member contains rubber including ethylene-α-olefin-based copolymer rubber, a cross-linking component, and tackifier. The cross-linking component contains at least a sulfur-based cross-linking agent. The tackifier is an alkylphenol-based resin of 2 pts.mass or more and 15 pts.mass or less per 100 pts.mass of the total rubber amount.
