Abstract | To provide an oil-in-water type emulsion cosmetic capable of improving emulsion stability without using a cyclic silicone, and having a high ultraviolet protection effect.SOLUTION: There is provided an oil-in-water type emulsion cosmetic which comprises (A) silica-coated zinc oxide subjected to hydrophobizing treatment having a coating layer containing silica in which the outermost surface is subjected to hydrophobizing treatment with a hydrophobization treatment agent and (B) a volatile non-cyclic silicone and contains the silica-coated zinc oxide subjected to hydrophobizing treatment in the inner phase, wherein the content of silica is 10 mass% or more based on the total amount of the silica-coated zinc oxide subjected to hydrophobizing treatment (A) and the content of the hydrophobization treatment agent is 9 mass% or more and less than 14 mass% based on the total amount of the silica-coated zinc oxide subjected to hydrophobizing treatment (A).SELECTED DRAWING: None
