Abstract To provide a heat insulation film that does not peel and the like even if formed on a top surface of a piston and used in a severe environment such as the inside of a combustion chamber of an engine, and a vehicular heat insulation component provided with the heat insulation film.SOLUTION: A vehicular heat insulation component in the present invention is given a heat insulation property by forming a heat insulation film 1 on at least a part of a surface of a heat insulation target component 2 such as a piston of an engine. The heat insulation film 1 includes at least an inorganic compound layer 10 with a Vickers hardness (HV) of 50 to 100, in which one or more kinds of scaly inorganic particles 12 selected from a group of mica, talc, and wollastonite are scattered in an inorganic compound 11 formed from alkoxide.
