Summary:To provide an automatic transmission and a centrifugal balance adjustment method of the automatic transmission, capable of cancelling imbalance between a fastening-side load and a release-side load due to fluctuation in centrifugal oil pressure of a cancel chamber caused by manufacturing error and the like.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission includes a clutch having a drum portion 31, a hub portion 32, friction plates 33a, 33b, and a piston 34 pressing the friction plates. The clutch has a hydraulic chamber 35 to which a hydraulic fluid for energizing the piston to a friction plate direction, and a cancel chamber 36 to which a hydraulic fluid for canceling a centrifugal oil pressure acting on the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic chamber, with the piston intervening between them. The drum portion includes a communication passage 101 extending in a radial direction and communicating with the cancel chamber, and is provided with an adjustment member 104 disposed on an end portion on a radial inner side of the communication passage communicating with the cancel chamber and capable of radially adjusting an atmospheric release position of the communication passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】製造誤差等によって生じ得るキャンセル室の遠心油圧の変動による締結側荷重と解放側荷重とのアンバランスを解消することができる自動変速機及び自動変速機の遠心バランス調整方法を提供する。【解決手段】自動変速機は、ドラム部31とハブ部32と摩擦板33a、33bと摩擦板を押圧するピストン34とを有するクラッチを備え、クラッチは、ピストンを挟んでピストンを摩擦板方向に付勢する作動油が供給される油圧室35と、油圧室の作動油に作用する遠心油圧をキャンセルするための作動油が供給されるキャンセル室36とを有し、ドラム部は、径方向に延びてキャンセル室に連通する連通路101を備え、キャンセル室に連通する連通路の径方向内側の端部に設けられて、連通路の大気解放位置を径方向に調整可能な調整部材104が設けられている。【選択図】図5
