Abstract To provide an operation detecting device for a vehicle capable of improving detection accuracy of an operation of a user.SOLUTION: A control unit of the operation detecting device comprises: a start electrode determination unit that determines a sensor electrode, in which an electrostatic capacitance C1 is equal to or larger than a first determination value C1Th, as an operation start electrode; and an operation determination unit that determines that a first operation has been executed when a sensor electrode from among a plurality of sensor electrodes, in which the electrostatic capacitance increases, sequentially switches from the operation start electrode in a first direction.
