Abstract To provide a steering device which can further reduce deviation from a design value of an absorption amount of collision energy when a load in a direction crossing an axial direction is input to a steering wheel.SOLUTION: A steering device includes a cylindrical input shaft extending in an axial direction, an output shaft where a resin layer is fit to the inner periphery of the input shaft, a cylindrical upper column arranged on the outer peripheral side of the input shaft, a cylindrical lower column that is fit to the upper column and rotatably supports the output shaft, a column bracket supporting the upper column, and a top plate releasably connected to the column bracket, in which the upper column has a press-fit part to which the lower column is press-fit, the resin layer is arranged at a position closer to the steering wheel than the press-fit part in an axial direction, the top late has a long hole extending in the axial direction, and the column bracket has a guide pin inserted into a long hole.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】ステアリングホイールに対して軸方向に交差する方向の荷重が入力された場合に、衝突エネルギーの吸収量の設計値からのずれをより低減できるステアリング装置を提供すること。【解決手段】ステアリング装置は、軸方向に延びる筒状の入力軸と、樹脂層が入力軸の内周に嵌合される出力軸と、入力軸の外周側に配置される筒状のアッパコラムと、アッパコラムに嵌合し且つ出力軸を回転可能に支持する筒状のロアコラムと、アッパコラムを支持するコラムブラケットと、コラムブラケットと離脱可能に連結される天板と、を備え、アッパコラムは、ロアコラムが圧入される圧入部を有し、樹脂層は、圧入部よりも軸方向においてステアリングホイールに近い位置に配置され、天板は、軸方向に延びる長孔を備え、コラムブラケットは、長孔に挿入されるガイドピンを有する。【選択図】図2
