Abstract | To provide a planar lighting device that can narrow a frame without deterioration in strength of a spacer.SOLUTION: A planar lighting device includes a substrate, a diffuser and a spacer. The substrate is disposed with multiple light sources in a two-dimensional manner. The diffuser is disposed on an emission side of the substrate. The spacer supports an end of the diffuser, has a diffuser-side width that is smaller than a light source-side width and has a frame side with a surface that faces an emission surface while being inclined thereto in at least the part thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
