Abstract To provide a technique to allow a printer to automatically select and execute an optimal print control method for a print job having single-sided printing and double-sided printing mixed therein.SOLUTION: A printer can execute a print job having single-sided printing and double-sided printing mixed therein, and based on printing order of the single-sided printing and the double-sided printing in the print job, the number of a plurality of standby positions, and information on a plurality of sheets to be fed that are held in a paper feed standby queue, selects and executes any one of first print control of executing the single-sided printing and double-sided printing on the sheets, second print control of causing a sheet for which the single-sided printing is instructed present between sheets for which the double-sided printing is instructed to be conveyed on a conveyance path for the sheets for which the double-sided printing is instructed after the single-sided printing, and third print control of first performing printing on a first face of the sheet for which the double-sided printing is instructed subsequent to the sheet for which the single-sided printing is instructed, and then performing the single-sided printing on the sheet passed by the subsequent sheet and for which the single-sided printing is instructed before performing printing on a second face of the sheet for which the double-sided printing is instructed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15 【課題】片面印刷と両面印刷が混在している印刷ジョブに対して、自動的に印刷装置が最適な印刷制御方法を選択して実行できる技術を提供する。【解決手段】片面印刷と両面印刷とが混在する印刷ジョブを実行できる印刷装置であって、印刷ジョブにおける片面印刷と両面印刷の印刷順、複数の待機位置の数及び給紙待ちキューに保持された給送されるべき複数のシートの情報情報とに基づいて、シートに片面印刷、両面印刷をそれぞれ実施する第1の印刷制御と、両面印刷シート間に存在する片面印刷を印刷後両面印刷の搬送経路を搬送させるようにする第2の印刷制御と、片面印刷シートよりも後続の両面印刷シートの一面目の印刷を先に行ない、両面印刷の二面目の印刷の前に追越された片面印刷が指示されたシートの片面印刷を行う第3の印刷制御のいずれかを選択して実行する。【選択図】図15
