To provide an agitator which can uniformly agitate/mix an object to be agitated (slurry).SOLUTION: An agitator 10 comprises: an agitation container 20 having an agitation chamber 22; a pump impeller 30 including a plurality of pump blades 32; a rotary drive shaft 40 which rotationally drives the pump impeller 30;: and a guide ring 50 for guiding slurry to the pump impeller 30. The guide ring 50 comprises: an enclosure part 52 equipped with an inclined inner peripheral wall 52a which surrounds the pump blade 32 and expands in diameter downward; an annular introduction part 53 which guides slurry to the pump impeller 30 and reduces in diameter downward; a first vertical inner peripheral wall 54 which extends downward from the enclosure part 52; and an annular discharge part 56 which discharges slurry from the pump impeller 30 to the agitation chamber 22 around the guide ring 50.
