Abstract | To provide a gear processor which can reduce wasteful power consumption at the processing of a gear by making rotational speeds of a workpiece and a gear-cutting tool synchronized with each other, and a gear processing method.SOLUTION: A gear processor 1 comprises a control device 100. The control device 100 has a state value determination part 122 and a variation condition change part 123 which constitute a variation condition setting part 120. The state value determination part 122 acquires a state value indicating a processing state of a workpiece by the gear-cutting tool with respect to the processing of the workpiece, and determines the state value on the basis of a preset reference value. The variation condition change part 123 changes at least either of a rotational speed variation width indicating a variation width when varying the rotational speed of synchronized rotation, and a rotational speed variation frequency indicating a frequency when varying the rotational speed according to a determination result by the state value determination part 122.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
