Abstract To provide a device for controlling a hybrid vehicle that can reduce the number of start-up times of an internal combustion engine and prevent deterioration in durability of a starting device.SOLUTION: A device for controlling a hybrid vehicle includes: a shift mode switching unit 16 for switching a shift mode including a manual shift mode and an automatic shift mode; and a travel mode switching unit 17 for switching a mode between a motor travel mode and an engine use mode of travelling using the power of an internal combustion engine 2 in accordance with the shift mode.
