Abstract | To provide a production method capable of obtaining a high quality long object whose material is a carbon nanotube.SOLUTION: The production method includes: (1) a process of obtaining a first web 10a by gradually drawing a carbon nanotube from a first array; (2) a process of retaining the first web 10a to a first retainer 12a by attaching a part of the first web 10a to the first retainer 12a; (3) a process of obtaining a second web 10b by gradually drawing the carbon nanotube from a second array; (4) a process of retaining the second web 10b to a second retainer 12b by attaching a part of the second web 10b to the second retainer 12b; and (5) a process of forming a joint by overlapping a vicinity to the first retainer 12a of the first web 10a and a vicinity to the second retainer 12b of the second web 10b together while a width direction of the first web 10a substantially coincides with a width direction of the second web 10b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
