Abstract To provide an absorber that can secure sufficient absorption capacity even if a thickness is reduced, that is less likely to swell even if excrement is absorbed and that is flexible and excellent in shape retention.SOLUTION: An absorbent core 2 has a first core 3 and a second core 4 thinner than the first core 3. The first core 3 is interposed between a core wrap sheet 5 and the second core 4. The second core 4 includes two base sheets 4S opposite each other and a water absorbent polymer interposed between the base sheets 4S, and both the sheets 4S are bonded together by an adhesive. One or more pairs of joint portions 6 where the core wrap sheet 5 and the second core 4 are directly joined without interposing the first core 3 are present at least on either both sides in a longitudinal direction X or both sides in a lateral direction Y with the first core 3 between them.
