To provide an absorbent article that is improved in color concealment properties to the red and yellow body fluid, and thereby reducing discomfort when a wearer performs visual recognition.SOLUTION: An absorbent article includes a surface sheet arranged in a skin facing surface side, a back sheet arranged in a non-skin facing surface side, and an absorbent core arranged between the surface sheet and the back sheet. A purple second sheet is provided between the surface sheet and the absorbent core. The second sheet has water absorbing properties higher than the surface sheet and has an absorptive capacity smaller than the absorbent core. The absorbent article is configured so that the chromaticity of aP* and the chromaticity of bP* defined by a color space of L*a*b* of CIE1976 through the surface sheet may be aP*≥3 and bP*≤-2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】赤色や黄色の体液に対する色隠蔽性が向上し、着用者が視認した際の不快感を軽減する。【解決手段】肌対向面側に配置される表面シートと、非肌対向面側に配置される裏面シートと、表面シートと裏面シートの間に配置された吸収コアとを備えた吸収性物品であって、表面シートと吸収コアとの間には、紫色系のセカンドシートが具備され、セカンドシートは、表面シートよりも吸水性が高く、かつ、吸収コアよりも吸収容量が小さく、表面シートを介した、ＣＩＥ１９７６のＬ＊ａ＊ｂ＊色空間で規定される色度ａP＊と色度ｂP＊が、ａP＊≧３かつｂP＊≦−２であるように構成されている。【選択図】図２
