Abstract To provide a pressure sensitive element having a relatively wide measurement range of pressing force and a relatively simple structure.SOLUTION: A pressure sensitive element includes a pressure sensitive unit (1A) to which pressing force is applied and a detector (2A) for detecting pressing force. The pressure sensitive unit (1A) includes: a first conductive member (11) made of sheet-like conductive rubber; a dielectric (13) formed on one surface of the first conductive member (11); and a second dielectric (12) that is arranged under the dielectric (13) and made of a metal wire and whose cross-section is a cylindrical shape. When pressure is applied to the pressure sensitive unit (1A), the area of a contact region between the dielectric (13) and the second conductive member (12) increases, resulting in change in capacitance.
