Summary:To provide a rainfall intensity estimation method using multiple altitude observation data of an ultrashort distance dual polarization radar that can estimate rainfall more accurately than existing methods for ultrashort distances by performing volume-by-volume rainfall estimation using a reflection factor (Zh) and a phase difference between specific polarizations (Kdp).SOLUTION: A rainfall intensity estimation method using multiple altitude observation data of an ultrashort distance dual polarization radar is disclosed. The method includes a step of inputting a horizontal polarization reflection factor and a phase difference between specific polarizations that are scan observation data among the multiple altitude observation data of the ultrashort distance dual polarization radar for each observed altitude angle, a step of calculating a volume average of the input horizontal polarization reflection factor and a volume average of the phase difference between specific polarizations, and a step of estimating a rainfall intensity using at least one of the calculated volume average of the horizontal polarization reflection factor and the volume average of the phase difference between specific polarizations.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】反射因子(Zh)と比偏波間位相差(Kdp)を用いてボリューム(体積)単位の降雨推定を行うことにより、超短距離に対しても、既存よりもさらに正確に降雨を推定することのできる、超短距離二重偏波レーダの多重高度観測資料を用いた降雨強度推定方法を提供すること。【解決手段】超短距離二重偏波レーダの多重高度観測資料を用いた降雨強度推定方法について開示する。超短距離二重偏波レーダの多重高度観測資料のうち、スキャン観測資料である水平偏波反射因子及び比偏波間位相差を、観測された高度角別に入力される段階と、入力された水平偏波反射因子のボリューム平均と比偏波間位相差のボリューム平均を算出する段階と、算出される水平偏波反射因子のボリューム平均及び比偏波間位相差のボリューム平均のうち少なくとも一つを用いて降雨強度を推定する段階と、を含む。【選択図】 図3
