Abstract | To provide a technique capable of quickly determining that the toner in the developer container is empty.SOLUTION: The toner transfer device includes: a storage part for storing toner used in a development unit; and a receiving part for receiving the toner emitted from an outlet that sends out the toner from the storage part. The toner transfer device further includes: a transport path part that constitutes a transport path for transporting the toner to the development unit, and an optical sensor unit that detects the presence or absence of toner in the passing area where the toner is falling after the toner is emitted from the outlet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
