Summary:To provide a recommendation device and a recommendation method for recommending commercial products close to a customer's preferences from among a wide range of commercial products.SOLUTION: In a recommendation system for recommending commercial products close to a customer's preferences, an information acquisition part 241 of a recommendation device 2 acquires analysis information that is one or more pieces of information related to at least either preferences or intentions of a customer. Further, a calculation part 242 calculates a preference type score which quantitatively represents a matching degree of a plurality of preference categories respectively used as elements representing tendencies of the preferences, with respect to the customer on the basis of the analysis information acquired by the information acquisition part 241.
