Abstract To increase a free space of ROM managed by a main control circuit to increase game properties.SOLUTION: In a process for counting two-byte soft timer values in an interrupt process executed on the basis of a time out signal from a timer circuit, a predetermined update command that can be executed by one command having functions of update, lower limit determination and determination branching, subtracts and updates a timer value if a current timer value is greater than a lower limit value thereof, or holds a timer value at the lower limit value if the same is equal to or smaller than the lower limit value. Thereafter, arithmetic processing means updates an update start address of a soft timer in second storage means by two bytes. The timer value is a value stored in a timer value storage region corresponding to an address set to a versatile pair register consisting of two versatile registers. If a predetermined combination is determined in a predetermined game state, a game state is shifted into a specific game state.
