Abstract To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent a unit from moving in a direction in which positioning comes off.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a unit that is positioned with respect to an apparatus main body; and a driving device that rotates a driving member of the unit in normal and reverse directions. The driving device has a main body-side gear 76 that is provided in the apparatus main body, and a unit-side gear 25b that is provided in a unit that is engaged with the main body-side gear 76.
