Abstract | To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents wear of a cleaning blade, while maintaining high efficiency in transfer from an intermediate transfer body.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image holding body; charging means; electrostatic charge image forming means; developing means that stores an electrostatic charge image developer including a toner for electrostatic charge image development including toner particles, and silica particles having a number average particle diameter of 110 nm or more and 130 nm or less, a large diameter-side number grain size distribution index (upper GSDp) of less than 1.080, an average circularity of 0.94 or more and 0.98 or less, and a ratio of particles with a circularity of 0.92 or more of 80 number% or more; transfer means having an intermediate transfer body that includes a base material and an elastic layer including spherical particles, primary transfer means that primarily transfers a toner image formed on a surface of the image holding body to a surface of the intermediate transfer body, and secondary transfer means that secondarily transfers the toner image transferred to the surface of the intermediate transfer body to a surface of a recording medium; and cleaning means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
