Abstract To provide a structural member obtained by firmly jointing two high strength steel sheets without weld or mechanical fastening.SOLUTION: A structural member 100 extends in a longitudinal direction L and in which a first member 110 formed of a steel sheet and a second member 120 formed of a steel sheet, are jointed. In the structural member 100, in a cross section vertical to a longitudinal direction L, a closed cross sectional shape is formed by the first and second members 110, 120. The first member 110 has tensile strength of 980 MPa or greater, and first hemming processing parts 111 obtained by performing hemming bending on both end parts in a width direction W orthogonal to the longitudinal direction L.
